Unique Features of MyLifeRank

Updates without the "Noise"

All the gaming and application updates pushes along with all the one-liners or incomplete thoughts that we read on a daily basis is what we consider "noise."  On MyLifeRank "noise" is no longer an issue since all the updates are related only to user's activites (achievements, goals, and challenges).  Every update provides the information and tools necessary to motivate other user to achieve something new.  And to keep the socialness up, users will be able to rate, comment and join in on their friend's activites.  The gaming element which controls the scoring is very important to MyLifeRank and it is explained below.  Users will see updates such as "Bobby achieved the goal of Running A Mile This Afternoon" rather than "Bobby is running..."

Goals-Based Locations

A goal in its simplest form represents something to do or achieve.  With MyLifeRank a user will be able to see all the goals around them no matter where they are.  Goals can be user created, site created or business created but they all are assigned to a location.  Say Bobby walks to the intersection of State and Wabash and discovers a nice little spot for hot dogs. He can instantly create a goal for his friends to go buy a hot dog at that location.  What's even better is that Bobby can make that a public goal so that any user around the area can see it and go buy a hot dog.  On the flip side, the business can also create a goal for people to try their new hot dog and attaches the incentive of free fries.  Unlike the other guys who want you to check-in at the places around you, MyLifeRank wants you to ACHIEVE all the goals around you.  Not only can users see all the goals around them, they can judge if they want to achieve those goals through the gaming system mentioned below.

A Smarter Way of Searching

The achievements, goals, challenges, people and locations are all searchable through the search tool located at the top in the navigation bar.  Type in anything in the search bar and instantly anything that relates to the word pops up.  With the mobile app, all the achievements, goals, challenges are all automatically searched for according to the users location.  Say Bobby is interested in Parks. He searches for Parks and instantly all the Parks around Bobby pops up along with any goals that he may be interested in doing.  Past achievements might also interest Bobby too especially if he is researching fun things to do or things to avoid.  While traveling on vacation to San Francisco, Bobby isn't familiar with the popular destinations around him and needs a way to locate things to do around him.  All he has to do is log on to the mobile app and instantly he is ready to go.

An Organized Hub of Activities

MyLifeRank has tools in place to make it easy to look at, achieve, brag, or even modify any achievements, goals and challenges he or she may have.  Think as it a personal secretary that knows exactly what you want to do at all times - that's how MyLifeRank is built.  The easy to use user activity bar is placed in the center of the screen with each section broken down into multiple functions.  Say Bobby wanted to see which goals he accomplished in the last 6 months, he can easily navigate to the goals tab and look at he has done.  If he wanted to, he can go ahead and print them out and use them as a reference for a job he is applying to or impress his new date with all his charity work.

Sophisticated Gaming System

The user-controlled gaming system is what makes everything SOCIAL.  Playing a social game that is controlled by the company who is running the game is not very social. Playing a social game that is controlled by user interactions is.  All achievements are judged by the user's friends. If the achievement is worthy it is scored high, if it is not then it is scored low.  This way the game is kept in check. The users have to think carefully as to who their "true" friends are and players are given more incentive to achieve goals that wow their friends rather than get bypassed by their friends.  All users are given a level based on the points received by friends' votes and all users are given attributes for the type of goals they create and achieve.  The reason for attributes is because we know not everyone has the same goals. Some might want to excel with business, some with family, some with being social. MyLifeRank makes it so that people can choose their own path.  Bobby just got back from vacation and achieved his goal of "Taking a Cruise w/ the Family."  Bobby's friends all gave him high ratings and great comments for this achievement.  But then Bobby's friend Rob decides to post that he achieved "Throwing a rock into the lake."  No one likes it and either votes low or doesn't vote at all.  Bobby gains a lot more points than Rob even though they both achieved a goal.
